Instagram is experimenting with different age verification techniques, such as social vouching and utilizing artificial intelligence to determine your age from a video selfie. It's a part of an effort to make sure users are at least 13 years old and, according to the announcement, to make sure that teenagers and adults are in the correct experience for their age group.

Instagram requires three of the user's mutual followers to verify their age as part of the social vouching method. They have three days to react, and the followers must be at least 18 years old. Users can still prove their age by uploading images of their ID cards.
