Apple Replay : Company Reveals Uncommon But Crucial Update for Key Product

Apple identified a potential risk with its Apple replay where an attacker with physical access to the accessory could potentially extract its Bluetooth pairing key, thereby monitoring Bluetooth traffic. This news, however, comes with a silver lining, as Apple has promptly addressed the issue by releasing the fix.

Users will not need to take any additional steps to update their devices, as the process will be automatically initiated in the background. This only requires the keyboard to be paired to the home device via Bluetooth. To verify the firmware version, users can navigate to System Settings > Bluetooth on their paired device, click on the My Devices section, find their keyboard, and click the Info icon. This will display the current firmware version and update status, reinforcing Apple’s commitment to delivering secure and efficient user experiences.
